IGOR AND THE HIPPIE LAND (IATHL)

Don’t try looking for Hippie Land on a map of the world; it’s a mythical place conjured up by singer/ guitarist/pianist Igor Stanislas and lead guitarist/mandolinist Emanuel McManus, alongside Philippe Jeoffroy on drums.

The first three albums see IATHL as citizens of a land ringing out with the fine musical backdrop of The Beatles, Bowie, Pink Floyd and The Beach Boys, bringing to mind the golden era of 60s and 70s rock.

‘Love and Chaos’: an ever-changing musical tapestry, underlined by finely-crafted lyrics from British author Claire Gristwood. The album evokes chaos of global and personal order, with love the universal cure. This is classic rock in its noblest and most timeless form.

Global lockdown in 2020 sees the band take a more urban, electronic direction, resulting in a new album entitled ‘4’. With lyrics once again from London-born Claire Gristwood, plus the addition of some mighty symphonic arrangements, the album ‘4’ is dark, classy and very, very cool…..
